Response to Literature
These will be scored according to the following expectations:
Your Response MUST Include:
- A lead/topic sentence that interests the reader and answers the question or defines term
- Examples that completely and effectively provide strong evidence that supports your topic sentence - Use the three best examples as support
- Each example MUST be defended
- Strong vocabulary/word choice, and quote use from the text
- A conclusion that restates/re-answers the prompt
- Correct conventions: spelling, capitalization, punctuation, transitions, grammar, heading and indenting
What Your Response Grade Means:
4: All five of the above expectations have been met
3: One of the above expectations needs improvement
2: Two of the above expectations need improvement
1: Three of the above expectations need revision
0: Prompt is incomplete, a rough draft or illegible.
