1. Theme can be defined as the message or lesson about life the author intends for his or her audience. Identify a major theme from Roll of Thunder and defend your choice using a minimum of two examples.
2. Secondary characters explain or describe primary characters. Pick a secondary character from the novel and tell how this character helps to explain a primary character. Use examples from the novel to support your ideas.
3. Identify three major conflict types that occur throughout the novel. Explain: the causes and effects of each conflict. Be sure to expose the characters, events or situations that create each type of conflict that you have chosen.
